Who are the Children of Israel?
Many people have a hard time coming to grips with straight forward Scripture as they wrongly believe that there is some separation between Israel - Yahuwah's people, and believers who were once Gentiles.
Most Christians even refer to themselves as Gentile believers (yet Scripture does not support this line of thinking) and they subsequently ignore all scripture referring to Israel as 'only for the Jews.'
Scripture makes it clear that there is ONE Torah (Law) for the Israelite and the same for the one joining themselves with His people.
Romans 10 v 12
'There is no distinction between Yahudi (Jew) and Yawanite (Greek), for the same Elohim of all is rich to all those calling upon Him. For everyone who calls on the Name of Yahuwah shall be saved.'
Here Paul is quoting Joel 2 v 32
Isaiah 56 v 6-8 states:
'Also the sons of the foreigner, who join themselves to Yahuwah, to serve Him, and to love the Name of Yahuwah, to be His servants, all who guard the Sabbath, and not profane it, and hold fast to My Covenant - them I shall bring up to my qodesh (set-apart) mountain, and let them rejoice in My house of prayer.'
The Renewed Covenant confirms this prophecy that those who join to Yahuwah are called His children: the children of Israel.
Romans 9 v 25-26
'Even whom He called, not only us of the Yahudim (Jews), but also of the Gentiles? As He says also in Hosea, 'I shall call them My people, who were not My people, and her beloved, who was not beloved.' And it shall be in the place where it was said to them, 'You are not My people,' there they shall be called sons of the living Elohim.'
Paul is quoting Hosea 1 v 10-11
Because of the lack of understanding of the fact that Yahuwah's commandments are for ALL His people and that there is no distinction between Jew or Gentile, Christianity has excluded itself from being called the children of Elohim through disobedience to His Torah.
The 'Children of Israel' are any beings who observe the Torah of Yahuwah. It is not so much a religion, but rather a relationship.
If we go back further and look at the name 'Israel' or 'Yisrael' in paleo pictograph Hebrew we can see a much clearer picture
The Hebrew letters for Yisrael (from right to left) are as follows:
Y - Yod S - Sin R - Resh A - Aleph L - Lamed
In Hebrew Pictograph they look like this below. Each picture has a meaning.
Yod - Right arm
Sin - Thorn, authority, shield, protect
Resh - Man, head, top, beginning, family, first, raise
Aleph - Ox - All Powerful One, strong powerful leader
Lamed - Shepherd, staff, teach, yoke, bind to
So it could read:
The Right Arm (Yahushua) protects man through the strength of the All Powerful One and teaches and guides them to go the Right Way.
Or we could say that the 'Children of Yisrael' are:
Those who choose to believe in (be faithful to) the Right Arm (Yahushua) and are protected and brought into the family of the All Powerful One (Yahuwah) and who bind / yoke themselves to Him by walking in His Ways / directions (His Commands).
Revelation confirms this:
Revelation 14 v 12
'Here is the endurance of the set-apart ones, here are those guarding the Commands of Yahuwah and the belief of Yahushua.'
So you see it is not about being Jewish or Gentile its about a relationship with the Most High. Those who love Him keep His Commands (John 14 v 15), as laid down in Torah (the first 5 books of Scripture).
Yahushua kept Torah as did the disciples, Paul and the early believers.
Are you a child of Yisrael?
