Shake off the labels and free your mind!

As I was sat contemplating life and thinking about the many conversations I have had with people over the last few years it got me thinking.  Uh oh – me thinking! – very dangerous!

I was thinking about how society and people, like to label our beliefs and faith and try to compartmentalise them neatly into acceptable categories or sects.  For example: our beliefs are boxed into religions. i.e Christian, Jewish, Catholic, Muslim, Messianic etc. and then statements of faith are set out and weaved into doctrines, denominations, theologies and church buildings i.

Stop and think awhile

Everywhere in primary schools across the country today children are encouraged to learn independently by exploring, asking questions, experiencing different things in many different ways. Most lessons are taught in a way that caters for different learning styles in order to unlock the children's learning capacity and potential. Interactive lessons where asking questions is actively encouraged have become a normal part of school life. As I think about the way our education system works and I think about my life I have many unanswered questions.

Is the Name of our Father really important?

Is the Name of the Father and the Son really that important?
I have heard many people say that the Name of our Father and His Son is not really important. Many have said that it doesn't matter what we call our Father or His Son and many have said that its just a case of semantics or translation and different languages.
For me, its quite simple really. My Father has revealed His name to us and I choose to declare it and share it with people, as it has been hidden from us for so many years by scribes and translators.

The Busyness of life ...

As I sit here in my garden this morning listening to the birds singing and cooing their praises to their Creator, I marvel at the beauty of nature and creation.  The peace and tranquillity sitting here, enjoying what Our Creator made for us, by the works of His hands is overwhelming.
What a far cry from the world we live in today. The hustle and bustle and busyness of life so easily overtakes and entangles us all.  So much to do, so little time.  So much technology, so many distractions.

My journey so far....

So here is my first blog on this site. I thought that it would be good for you to hear a little about my journey , which got me to this point.
I live in Wales in the UK and was brought up attending a large Pentecostal City church.  I attended Sunday School as a child and went on to become a Sunday school teacher and eventually I even worked as a Children's Worker for the church and became very involved and busy in church life.
As a child, I was taught all the cute Bible stories like Noah's ark, Daniel in the lions den etc and went on to teach these to the children that came through the children's work at the church.
